It seems that Microsoft is very competent when it comes to creating applications for iPhone. The latest from Microsoft is the Windows Live Messenger, which is now available for downloading in any iTunes App Store and that too for free. Although the primary feature of this application is to have a better hold on the Windows Live network while chatting, but the fact that it comes with lot many new and enhanced features makes it a big hit amongst the Windows Messenger users.
One of the prominent features is that the user will get notifications even when the application isn’t running. As long as the other person who is included in your chat list is connected to other social networking sites through his/her Live ID, this latest app will allow you to see what your buddy is sharing in his networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube etc. It also offers access to Hotmail and you can find it in the screen itself. But a minor drawback in it is that there isn’t a link in the bottom menu. However, we are hopeful that this feature will be included in the next versions.
Messenger is the fourth application that Microsoft has released so far, the first being the Seadragon Mobile, which was a Photosynth viewer and was released in December, 2008. The Seadragon was followed by Bing, a search application and then by Tag, which was basically a reader for Microsoft’s QR code. This is an absolutely great application and Microsoft has been able to improvise every time it came up with a new app.
