There is some real good news for all those who like playing games on their iPhone. Freeverse in association with Paramount launched Top Gun 2 for iPhone and the iPod Touch. This game comes with enhanced graphics, much improved controls and a brand new mission. This game is a continuation of first Top Gun, which casted the user like a fighter pilot that would get involved in the action packed shootouts etc. The latest version of the game comes with a more focused storyline and the graphics are also highly enhanced. The only concern here is that Freeverse’s image as unique entity has taken a beating in its efforts to make the game more user-friendly.
When the first Top Gun was launched, it faced a lot of criticism from players as well as critics. The primary reason for this was that the game an unusually long animated storyline. It wasn’t a surprise that the Top Gun 2 would ensure that the mistake of the previous version is not repeated. This one has no story as such and instead there is a brief synopsis before the start of the mission. One thing that stands out is that there is little to no mention of the movie. Overall, for a fighter pilot game it’s fairly stimulating but there are a few areas that could have been better.
The soundtrack, however, gets a bit repetitive and after some time you get bored to put it simply. Overall, a decent game but at times you do get the feeling that there’s a lot left wanting in it.
