Another great software solution to hit the market soon would be the all new TomTom car kit, expected by the end of this summer. It would free us from the hassles of buying a separate GPS for our cars and the great news is that it works with the iPhone. The TomTom navigation software was demonstrated by Peter- Frans Pauwels during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference. It has the functionality which can be associated with different GPS units. The accessory makes mounting the iPhone to the cars simple and secure. Add to that it would also help to add speakers for voice instructions, hands free calling and will enable in- car charging.

Although some may argue that this accessory does not have much usage, however it definitely adds to the functionality. It will enable you to fit your Pocket PC to any vehicle and access it regardless of where you are going. The best part is that we can install the cradle on our dashboard permanently or simply attach it to the windshield. It has a whole new range of mounting options and you can choose which one is best for you. The accessory would help customers save a lot of money as they do not have to buy a separate navigating system.

The TomTom navigation application for iPhone would be available via the Apple iTunes App Store right after Apple’s OS 3.0 gets released in the market. TomTom surely will have an edge over the GPS makers!
