With the Goggles visual search application, Google claims to take the iPhone users to a level where Google can only think of doing it.

This is an attempt to take Google search to another level by adding another feature to its world leading search function. This application will enable users to search items with photographs. The application is still at the development stage, many feel that this app is way too ambitious to come true.

This application is already available in Android phones but it hasn’t been as successful as the regular Google search engine. So, it will be a good experience for users to try out something new, although chances of failure are very high.

This application from Google is already available in app stores in the UK and it is expected to spread across the world very soon. Google has made it very clear that this app wouldn’t be very affective if the images are of cars, furniture or pets but it works just fine with books. It isn’t full proof but it still is a very exciting initiative and if it works it could revolutionize the entire cyber world. The chances of this app being successful in the near future seem to be really low as it recently failed to identify the largest Thermometer in the World. So, we need to wait and see if this app will be able to live up to the expectations of a huge lot of people.

The latest application update is compatible with the iPhones as well as handsets with the Android platform. The application promises to increase the image search speed without compromising on its viewing quality.

The software is available on the official Google website and is seen as an attempt by the company to improve the present standard of the images that are viewed on the iPhone. The latest release would make the image search quicker and of much higher quality.Users can access the software on iPhone 3.0+ and Android 2.1 platforms where they can view the images as square thumbnails in order to increase the number of pictures that can be accessed per page. The pace at which you browse the pictures gets faster as you slide on either direction through the pages and get a broader scope.

Users just require tapping the image to get its full size and there is also an option to put black background to the images that makes better viewing by putting more emphasis on the pictures. The application is meant for the global users and is available in almost 38 languages on the main website of Google. Through this application, Google has tried to maintain its dominance in the market and it seems like a step in the preparation to deal with the imminent iPhone onslaught that is just around the corner.

Google announced the version 2.0 with some improved features which include exploring the application in different languages and with improved performance. The latest update gives you the opportunity to view maps by using My Maps interface after logging to Google Maps account.

You can even view maps that are created by others. The update to the application ensures an amazing experience with its ability to provide you with information about places that help you discover different new parts of the world. Apart from this, it also allows you to view images and Wikipedia articles. To simplify your experience of browsing, there is a glow under the icons which you touch and in case you touch more than one icon, you are taken to a list of the icons from where you can select the one of your choice.

The Google Earth for iPhone earlier supported 18 languages which have increased to 31 with this new update. This means that users will have more options when it comes to choosing their language. Overall, the update seems a minor one with the only noticeable new thing being its ability to view maps that you have saved, using Google Maps to My Maps. The update will surely boost the popularity of this application a great deal among its users.

It wasn’t long back when Google made its applications inter-operable on several devices. Thus, the latest one is the Google translate service which has recently hustled its way to the inevitable iphones.

However, it will be only available as a web application and not as a self-contained isolated application. So, it means you need online services to access the service. The trial Google version confirmed 200-400 translations per 1mb of data.

Google translate for iphone is all set to offer stunning speed alongside current Google translate language packages and client-side data storage facility on your mean device to enable you to access all past translations hassle-free. What seems exciting is its ability to show new languages as and when they are added by the Google team.
