The browser on its very first day was downloaded for a record 1 million times according to the sources at Opera Software. This has given it the best title in the entire Apple Store. There were speculations that Apple may not approve of this application as it competed with Safari. It was all proved wrong as the application is now officially available on the Apple Store.The application has gained huge popularity in almost 22 countries worldwide.

The application which was launched at Mobile World Congress promises great browsing speeds. The compression technology used in this application would also reduce the roaming charges for its users. The reason for the faster speed of the browser is the use of proxy servers that minimize the data that is sent to your mobile device. The best part is that Opera Mini has not made any compromises to its feature because of its high speed.

Users would still have the features of Speed Dials, offers tabs and password manager at their disposal. Lars Boilsen who is the chief executive of Opera said that the success of the Opera Mini did not come as much of a surprise to him as he expected the iPhone users to get hold of this faster way of surfing the web. The Opera mini is available for download through the desktop application of iTunes and is also available to the users on the ipod Touch and iPhone’s Application store.
