We knew it was going to happen sooner or later. Obviously people weren’t happy with the 4GB iPhone as that was phased out rather fast. So here comes the brand new 16GB iPhone, priced at $499. That’s $99 more than the unfortunate early adopters of the 4gb iPhone spent on their now obsolete phone. I personally have an 8GB iPhone, and considering this is DOUBLE the space mine has for $100 less than I paid (or the exact same price if you can feed your family with apple gift cards), I find it difficult to want to buy anything but a 3rd or 4th generation Apple product ever again. With this being my first Apple product I’ve actually owned, as opposed to a friend simply giving me their old iPod, getting smacked around twice in under a year is difficult to stomach.
The new 16GB iPhone is exactly the same as both the 4GB and 8GB iPhone Models except for it’s larger storage space. It will come standard with firmware version 1.1.3, meaning that it may be difficult if you want to take a shot at hacking this bad larry. Announced at the same time was a 32GB iPod Touch at the exact same price. It seems they’ve waited just long enough for the holiday season to have come, clearing out their older stock so they can fill the shelves with the new and improved model. But wait, the 16GB iPhone STILL is missing 3G! That means that if you already own an iPhone there is no reason at all for you to upgrade to this new model. You wouldn’t want to be an early adopter twice, would you?
